The Women’s Opportunity Awards are sponsored by Soroptimist, an international organization for professional and business women who work to improve the lives of girls and women. Throughout the world there are now nearly 95,000 Soroptimists who contribute financial support and time to community-based as well as well as intentional projects that are intended to benefit girls and women.

The Women’s Opportunity Awards program functions as the organization’s primary education project. Through this program, clubs throughout nineteen territories and countries provide assistance to women by offering resources needed for women to improve their skills, education and employment opportunities.

ASPSF Scholarships
The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund or ASPSF also offers scholarships for single parents. The foundation was started in 1990 with the goal of recognizing the impoverishment that single parents in Arkansas frequently must endure. The program works at the county level to offer scholarships to single moms in the local area.

Single parents living in Arkansas may also wish to apply for the Arkansas Universal Scholarship.     mostly scholarships are geared towards single moms but I would email them to see if they would consider your application – whichever one offers scholarships for single moms. Also, you may ask them if they know of other programs for you that you can apply to – a single dad! I would say you may be surprised at the response you get.
